Biodiversity is worldwide under serious pressure. One million species are threatened and populations of mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians and birds have dropped with 69% in the last fifty years. At the same time humans depend on what nature offers them to fulfill all their social and economic needs and desires. Reducing biodiversity decline and increasing water security is vital to maintain our life support system for present and future generations.

Therefore, the International Union for Conservation of Nature in The Netherlands (IUCN) and Partners for Water joined forces and are happy to invite you to Shaping a Biodiversity Proof Future on October 1, 2024.

This event will showcase the value of biodiversity, it will give you insights in overcoming obstacles to combat biodiversity decline and increasing water security and how to mainstream biodiversity within international development and water security programmes.
