The Dutch government is currently preparing its participation in COP17 to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), taking place from 19 to 30 October in Yerevan, Armenia. A final decision on a Netherlands Pavilion is still pending.

Nevertheless, we would like to connect with you at this stage. If you are planning to attend COP17, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you. We also welcome early ideas for possible sessions or contributions from your organisation. Registration for sessions will open if and when the Netherlands Pavilion is confirmed.

The main focus themes of the (intended) Netherlands Pavilion and its sessions will be:

  • Mobilising finance for biodiversity;
  • Monitoring, reviewing and follow-up actions related to the global review;
  • The nexus of biodiversity, climate, food systems and/or water;
  • Mainstreaming biodiversity;
  • Nature-based Solutions.

We give preference to sessions that are interactive, content-rich and action-oriented, and that generate impact beyond COP17. Collaboration between multiple organisers, as well as diversity within sessions, will also be valued. Finally, organisers of sessions at the intended Netherlands Pavilion must be accredited to attend COP17.

To provide further information and exchange ideas, we are organising an online information session:

Date: 1 July
Time: 15.00–16.00 (CEST)

During this session, we will share more about the Dutch engagement at COP17 and explore opportunities for collaboration. You are very welcome to join, please register via the button above.
